Oliver's been plugging away at new material for season two while I left town for exotic Ottawa to work. But those quiet days are behind us, for what I imagine will be a long time.

We have been scouting locations for the next block of shooting, and now we're about three days away from rolling cameras once more! Afterwards we're both going underground to hide in our editiing cocoons only to emerge sometime in a few weeks with grey hair, beards matted with cookie crumbs and coffee stains and somekind of a show for you all to look at.

I'm not sure how comfortable people are about us dropping names just yet, so I'll just say that our cast (who shall soon be named! And even referred to directly!!) and our crew worked their asses off this whole production. We're a small budget show, but everybody brought their A-game and treated it as if we were the real thing. There were a lot of challenges, constraints and obstacles that we had to overcome, and I think everybody dealt with them with great poise and grace. Well done.

Thanks also goes to those who volunteered their contacts, their equipment and in some cases their pocket-books to help make this project come together.

We had some amazing luck by scoring a shoot day at the amazing and delcious Murray's Sandwich Emporium, and they even supplied us with lunch on Day 2. A big mention also goes to my lovely girlfriend who put up with having 15 people trampling around in our apartment setting up lights and moving things around. Also, last but not least, Oliver's roommates who allowed us to invade their apartment for a few hours on Sunday. We'll be back there soon...

Thank you.

First weekend of shooting: UNLOCKED

Hey guys, it's your friendly neighborhood screenwriter - Oliver - here!

So okay it's Wednesday, but hey - we needed to sleep. The weekend didn't really end until late in the day yesterday besides but who cares about that. What you care about is the show itself!

Filming was a lot of fun with both cast and crew putting in some really impressive work. As the writer, it was very satisfying for me to finally see the scenes manifest somewhere outside of my round little head! We've got one picture up on our twitter feed and there will be more to come! (You can also just directly follow us on Flikr if that's your thing).

There's still a lot more hard work, including additional filming, to do before season one of Sweet Fever officially debuts but we're assembling a snazzy teaser trailer with the footage we got this weekend and you should be able to have your peepers tantalized by it's visual delights by some time this Friday.

Since then we've had a full cast read-through, some tech scouts, a few wardrobe fittings and loads of paperwork and brick-stomping. On Saturday, my DP and Art Director met up with me to go over shots and locations. We are hurtling towards our first day of shooting, and there are still so many things up in the air.

I can't say that this is my favourite part of production, but it certainly is...stimulating. Right now we're anxiously awaiting news from a couple of potential locations, and I still have my series binder to create. Today, we meet with a new addition to our team - our 1st AD, and we have a few location meetings lined up to boot.

Despite my grumblings, prep is actually pretty exciting. The pictures in your head start to take more of a corporeal form, and you get a better sense of the things you need to help tell the best story possible. If you've done a good job of surrounding yourself with the right people, they bring things to the table that you had never thought of, or just hadn't yet articulated.

We've been keeping pretty mum on this site, and on our twitter feed lately, but as we press on into production mode, you can expect a veritable explosion of things to read, photos to salivate over and maybe even a few sneak peaks from behind the scenes. This week, it begins.

Casteded!!

Dear god.
